All My Favorites-Late Winter/Early Spring 2018

  • Fré Skincare

I first started using Fré skincare in December and I immediately fell in love. It is a 3 step skincare routine to protect against sweaty skin! As an athlete, I sweat every day and my skin can suffer from that! But I can honestly say, the quality of my skin has improved so much since using Fré skincare, it smells amazing and it is all cruelty-free! I mean what more could you ask for?

  • Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser

I have been using this product for so long but it never fails to amaze me. It keeps my skin so soft and I hardly ever have a pimple. When I do get those random pimples (probably right in the middle of my forehead just so everyone can notice) it is quickly removed once I apply the cleanser. This is one of the best investments I have ever made.

  • 21 Spray

I am one of those girls that has hair that is kind of curly and kind of straight but always a mess. So everytime I dress up or make an effort to look nice, I straighten my hair. Heat on hair is really bad for it, so that is why I purchased this spray. You put it on your hair after you shower and it protects your hair from becoming damaged from heat. I can definitely tell a difference in my hair, it looks smoother and has many fewer broken pieces from the heat. Also, this spray smells AMAZING.

  • Podcasts

Podcasts are great to listen to while driving, cooking, cleaning, taking walks, going for runs, doing your hair and makeup, etc. My favorites lately have been The Balanced Blonde (Jordan Younger), The Chasing Joy Podcast (Georgie Morley), and Nourishing Women Podcast (Meg Dixon and Victoria Myers). I listen to all of these for free on the podcast app on my iphone!

  • The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck

Written by Mark Manson, this is not your typical self help book. As a perfectionist and someone who just sees everything as a big deal, this book really helped put things into perspective and made me feel more free.

  • Youtube

One of my favorite ways to chill out is to doodle and watch youtube videos. My favorite    youtubers are Christie Swadling, Sarah’s day, and Emma Chamberlain. Sarah and Christie are both health, fitness and wellness youtubers, and Emma is always there to make me laugh out loud.

Food & Drink:

  • HEALTHY Fries

I am all for going out and having a burger and fries every once in a while but why not enjoy fries on the reg without feeling concerned for your health?!

To make these:

  1. Lay a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet (makes for an easy clean up and no need to use oil!)
  2. Chop potatoes into fry shape
  3. Season potatoes with garlic powder, himalayan pink salt, and pepper
  4. Bake at 425 degrees (F) for 30-45 minutes

That’s it. SO easy and SO delicious!

  • Oatmeal with FROZEN bananas

Okay, this sounds weird, I know, but just trust me on this one. While cooking your oats, add in ½ or a whole frozen banana and stir it in until it starts to become mushy. This gives your oats LOADS of flavor and natural sweetness. It also will make your oats fluffier… I mean, what more could you want?!

  • Iced Coffee with Almond Milk

This is so boring, but so good. I had never had iced coffee until a couple months ago and it changed my life. I still am a warm coffee girl because Michigan is freezing and I love holding a warm mug in my hands, BUT iced coffee just makes me feel so happy and energized. So when the warm weather hits, my iced coffee obsession is going to hit even harder.

(If you’re looking for healthier Starbucks drinks, my go to is: Unsweetened iced coffee with almond milk!).

  • Milk Frother Wand

I don’t know about you guys, but I love slow mornings. Sunday mornings filled with sleeping in, writing, reading and frothy coffee bring me so much joy. This milk frother was less than $10 and it changed my morning coffee game so I totally recommend buying it!

  • Healthy Human Water Bottle (32 oz)

Every morning I take a tbsp of apple cider vinegar first thing then I fill up my Healthy Human with water and make sure I drink it all before I leave the house. When I have more time in the mornings, I try to finish the whole bottle before I have my coffee. I always make sure to bring my healthy human everywhere with me. We go to skating together everyday, to the gym, to the grocery store, to ballet, to ballroom, everywhere. We are best friends.

As a competitive ice dancer, I don’t count my training as fitness. I guess skating is my favorite form of exercise but I just don’t think of it that way! So here’s what I’ve been loving lately in addition to skating and training.

  • Treadmill Intervals

I do this for 30 minutes. First, five minutes-warm-up walk, next fifteen I alternate between jogging, sprinting and running (each for two minutes at time). Then for the final 10 minutes, I put the incline as high as I can manage and alternate between speed walking and regular walking.

  • Ab Burnouts

You can do these anywhere, even while watching TV. All I do is set my timer for 10 minutes and do 10 ab exercises (1 minute each). I love to finish my workouts with these because I always end up feeling the burn! Some of my favorite exercises to include are: deadbugs, leg raises, dish toe-taps, flutter kicks, sit-ups, bicycle crunches, planks, and alternate heel taps.

These are a few things I’ve really been loving lately and incorporating into my everyday life. I hope you all try some of these things out and love them as much as I do. Thanks for reading!
